The Brilliant Idiots podcast with radio personality, Charlamagne Tha God, and comedian, Andrew Schulz, is a must listen. The humorous pair tackles important issues with complete honesty. Although you may not always agree with them, you have to love the fact that they’re fair, unapologetic, and hilarious.
Charlamagne is the same as he is on The Breakfast club . The only difference is that on the Brilliant Idiots podcast you get deeper into his psyche. He’s able to discuss more social issues .There are no music breaks and no structured segments like on the radio. It’s an hour and a half of straight conversation. Charlamagne is captivating, humorous, and has an interesting perspective on social issues. Andrew on the other hand offers a different perspective because he’s a white male. You’re able to see what his take is on issues affecting the black community. Andrew is respectful but doesn’t hold back comments from fear of a negative reaction from the black community.
During this internet age it is hard to hold an audience’s attention for an hour and a half to two hours with just conversation. The Brilliant Idiots podcast has been able to do so. They discuss a wide range of topics from politics, sex, sports, music, etc. The conversation that they make sure they always have is the one concerning race relations in America. Although Andrew is a “liberal” who grew up in Manhattan he still makes honest statements that a hardcore pro black individual may be offended by. This is great because many whites are afraid to speak up in fear that they may be called a racist. A lot of times it’s not racism. some whites are just uninformed about the plight of the Afro-American. As long as they’re being respectful there should be room for that conversation. Andrew and Charlamagne have these important discussions and are always informing themselves.
If you’re into less serious matters, they have plenty of immature “D**k talk” for you. The jokes are constant because good jokes always have some truth in it. What also makes the duo standout is that they have no problem changing their opinions for fear of being called a “flip flopper” or inconsistent. They always say there’s nothing wrong with changing your opinion once you’ve acquired additional information. Truthfully that’s human nature because people grow out of their opinions. What you thought yesterday isn’t necessarily what you think today. The closing slogan of the Brilliant Idiots podcast is absolutely fitting “As always if you listen to this podcast and you think we’re brilliant. you’re absolutely right. If you listen to this podcast and you think we’re just a couple of idiots that don’t know sh** .you’re right to”. It’s refreshing to have personalities that are entertaining, thought-provoking, honest, and allow themselves to be human. For that the Brilliant Idiots podcast is truly genius.
Enjoy!
