The grind. Every artist—be it a rapper, singer, writer, painter, etc.—knows it well, so much so that it’s a topic that’s been beaten into the ground over the years. Perhaps that’s what makes it that much more refreshing when someone comes along and embraces the hustle without relying on corny or emotionally manipulative tropes.
At least, that’s at the core of “Blessed”, the NYC-forward single from Spanish producer Brainiac Beats, and its recently released visuals from director David Fernandez. He heard the motivational track featuring rappers El Gant, Vvs Verbal, and Bekay and singer Grey, and he clearly knew what to do with their message.
Throughout the black-and-white video, Fernandez frames what it’s like to be a young artist working on his craft with what appears to be a successful conclusion. His story is partially outlined by the vocals of the featured artists on “Blessed,” particularly Grey’s reflective hook.
