Watch Bas and J. Cole’s music video for ‘Night Job’
Released as a single from Bas‘ Too High To Riot album, the music video for “Night Job” featuring J. Cole has arrived.
The music video has a darkness to it, adding to the theme of the song and handwork that Bas has put in – in order to get to this point in time. Packing up his book bag full of money, J. Cole is truly on his night job in this music video.
The visual is simplistic, at best, continuing to keep a focus on the theme of the song and the lyrics that make it worth the listen.
“I’m on my night job, always knew how to play these cards of mine
Fuck rap, we seen harder times
Jump back like Vinny Carter prime
I’m on mine” – Bas
Bas was able to capture his ambition from the beginning of hard times and the transition into easier times. A lot of Bas’ success is to be given to J. Cole for giving the Dreamville signee the opportunity to shine.
“I’m on my night job, finally got Bassy off the corner
‘010 niggas thought he was a gonner
He ducked shots, now it’s “Bas we gotta phone her” – J Cole
The song speaks on the transition of Bas, moving into a different rim of artistry and financial gains. “Night Job” is a nice track that builds off the 2015-track from Bas, “Golden Goals.”
Once again, Bas painted a picture lyrically and helped the audience live the vision with him.
