Nowadays, music is dropping at a more rapid rate than ever, and unless you sit in front of your computer all day long, you more than likely will miss something. To try and help with that, we’ve created this new column, designed to put you back in the loop (somewhat, anyway). Kicking things off is Memphis singer, Apollo Mighty, who is easily becoming a favorite.
1. Apollo Mighty – “Magnetic”
With an upcoming project due this April, Memphis crooner Apollo Mighty unleashes a brand new heater, this time for “Magnetic”. Described as a song about “pushing the boundaries of one’s limitations”, “Magnetic” is vibes galore. This is one of those joints that sounds ten times better at night and even in the company of the opposite sex. Press play.
2. Ro Ransom featuring Kensei Abbot – “See Me Fall” (Y2K Remix)
Last year, New York emcee Ro Ransom teamed up with Kensei Abbot to give us the gloomy, yet trappy banger, we’ve come to know as “See Me Fall”. Ahead of the release of his forthcoming mixtape, Momentum, producer Y2K has revamped the track and it’s just as crazy as the original. Take a listen below, and be on the lookout for Ro’s next single, “Doppelgänger”.
3. Earlly Mac featuring Big Sean – “Do It Again” (Video)
If you’ve been following Big Sean’s career up to this point, then there is no doubt that you are extra familiar with Earlly Mac, as the two have always been close. As we get ready for Earlly’s upcoming EP, God Knows, he gives fans what they’ve been waiting for, reuniting with Big Sean for the extra player “Do It Again”. Peep the video, below.
4. Isaac Castor – “Hole In One”
Formerly known as Gameboi, Issac Castor is a rising emcee who calls Michigan home. With Arjun Singh delivering the hard-hitting production, Isaac goes full-throttle on “Hole In One”, and the kid is definitely talkin’ that shit. Take a listen!
5. Daz Rinko – “Angel” (Video)
Another artist who calls Memphis home is Daz Rinko, who recently dropped off a cleverly animated set of visuals to “Angel”, a bouncy ode to the ladies, similar to something you might hear from GoldLink. Daz’s upcoming project, L.I.F.T.E.D. is slated for a Spring 2016 drop.
