2 Chainz makes his way back to The Breakfast Club with DJ Envy, Charlemagne tha God, and Anglea Yee. It’s an exciting time for 2 Chainz, as he’s fresh off the release of his joint-album with Lil Wayne, titled Collegrove. This follows up 2 Chainz’ mixtape Felt Like Cappin, released on Jan. 27. From the dabbin’ sweaters to his music, 2 Chainz has found himself moving in different directions.
“We just been shooting and missing for a long time, as far as coming up with merchandise,” said 2 Chainz. “My first album with the two chains on it, was my most successful merchandise piece. But then, everybody started putting 2 Chainz on shirts….. I didn’t want to be trendy and make it seem like I was biting, when I knew where it came from.”
2 Chainz bounced back with the ugly sweaters, putting the process of brainstorming with his team in a range of success. However, Chainz switched up the topic midway through the interview.
“What we need to be talking about is that new album I just dropped,” 2 Chainz said after speaking on all of his other endeavors.
“You gotta understand that Wayne was the hottest guy in 2007,” 2 Chainz said. He spoke on the “Duffle Bag Boy” track that Wayne hopped on with Playaz Circle (Atlanta duo with Dolla Boy and 2 Chainz).
“I was being loyal to Chris and Dolla,” 2 Chainz said on why he never signed to Young Money, Cash Money.
2 Chainz stated that “Ye has a ton of my verses that I wish I could hear.” This could have been going on during G.O.O.D. Music’s Cruel Winter drop.
