Kanye West may have shut down Madison Square Garden with the simultaneous unveiling of his new collection and his new album, The Life of Pablo, but the real winner today was Young Thug.
Don’t let the above image fool you. Today was the day that Young Thug went to the next level, and he can thank none other than Yeezy for that.
For starters, Thugger was one of many chosen to model Kanye’s Yeezy Season 3 line. In addition to that, the Atlanta rapper makes an electrifying appearance on “Highlights”, a song that will not only be featured on The Life of Pablo, but also performed this coming weekend on Saturday Night Live.
When someone hands you the AUX cord, you have to hold it down, and Young Thug did just that as he unveiled a new record in front of thousands who packed into MSG. The song (which may or may not be called “Wit Dem”, according to Mike Will Made-It) sent fans into a frenzy, and perhaps gained Thugger a few new listeners, because if Kanye co-signs you, you must be a big deal.
