It doesn’t come as a surprise, following on from a second emoji-inspired AW15 collection, in which Donatella created her own keyboard language hybrid made up of an alternative take on the Versace Greek Key, hashtags and the letters of VERSACE, the house have decided to cement their love for the digital imagery by launching their own emoji app.
But because pictures speak louder than words, Versace won’t be following in the footstep of Kim Kardashian’s Kimoji. Instead of acting as an addition to your smartphone keyboard, the Italian house’s addition to the App Store acts as more of a picture editing program, allowing users to embellish their selfies or create original imagery through the use of stickers, backgrounds and filters.
Of the app, Donatella says, “I love how the new Versace Emoji app lets everyone in the world express themselves and share their feelings. I can’t wait to begin creating with it.”
Versace Emoji is now available through the App Store and the Google Play Store
