Rome Fortune’s debut LP, Jerome Raheem Fortune, arrives this Friday on Fool’s Gold. He gave Ebro the go ahead to premiere the album’s latest release, “Blicka Blicka,” on Beats 1 Radio this morning. Rome Fortune is finally ready to drop his debut album Jerome Raheem Fortune. With “Dance” and “Love” already out, the Cubby-produced, “Blicka Blicka” features an unusual arrangement structured around a chord made up of a series of notes combined with synthetic African drums.”Blicka blicka, bow bow” makes up for a perfectly memorable hook that will undoubtedly have everyone singing along to it. The remedy that helps Fortune tune out all the noise and obstacles that come with being an artist of his level.
From 90’s rap influence to the ratchet trap music elements in his earlier stuff to switching to the world of electronic music by the time he put out his Small VVorld EP, Fortune’s style has evolved tremendously over time. He often combines traditions of different genres so effortlessly into something so refreshing, that a listener is forced to tune in. He is easily one of the most outstanding pioneers of today’s modern and contemporary music, who doesn’t just represent one genre, so it would be unfair to categorize his content. He has artistically proven himself to be a very innovative artist of our time.
The audio below also consists of a short interview Fortune did with Ebro. Jerome Raheem Fortune drops February 26th but you can pre-order the album via iTunes.
