Distributed on Soundcloud a month ago but not officially released, L.A.’s rising rap star Micky Munday delivers a record that puts him back on the scene titled, ‘Bye Felicia‘ featuring fellow California artists Y2 and IAMxLOVE. The too-hot-to-overlook record is produced by award-winning producer Knotch, and is a preview of what fans can expect from Micky’s forthcoming project.
‘Bye Felicia’ is an ode to how Micky’s career has taken off since he started taking it seriously at age 17. In true ‘Friday‘ nature, Micky and fellow LA rhymester/songwriter Y2 decided to tell the rest of the rap game ‘Bye Felicia.’ San Diego native IAMxLOVE adds a unique touch to the song, creating a melting pot of Hip-Hop sound.
“We were playing around with creating the hook and were inspired by the ‘Friday’ movie theme,” notes Micky Munday. “We wanted to make the sound a collaborative mesh of what’s going on today. It was a dope way for all three of us to work together.”
Micky Munday is currently in the studio working on his upcoming mixtape dubbed ‘W.E.A.L.T.H.,‘ (Wanting Everything And Leaving This Hell) a follow up to his last project ‘Back to Work‘ hosted by DJ Don Cannon. The California native plans to drop a video for ‘Bye Felicia‘ in the near future and expects to drop a second single later in the year. Outside of the studio, the multi-talented Micky will also star in the Amazon Prime indie film ‘Borderline,‘ playing the role of a Jamaican drug dealer.
