I’ll start it off like this…. This sh*t is that dope, for real! Pounds got that “El Jefe” demeanor.
Upon hearing “Write a Check,” his guttural tone offers a shakedown for your attention. With this, he easily presents one of the facets of a dope rapper, one that can keep a fan listening for a whole album. Beyond that, ill wordplay and smooth cadences carry the track, over his own ebullient looping horn production. It’s a sound collision of Up North x South, in my opinion. Given the New York State’s natives hardships of being surrounded by substance abuse, its clear he utilizes his resilience enough to make it in the sometimes fickle rap game. You shouldn’t have to wait too long for more from Pounds as he’s working on his latest project, Heavy Lies the Crown, so make sure you’re on the lookout.
Be sure to peep the whole donned out visual along with the track below.
