A$AP Ferg seems to be off to an ample start for 2016. The Trap Lord rapper teamed up with Future to create a dope visual for his latest single “New Level.”
Ferg delivers a different style with this body of work, with his first single in over a year, he is quickly increasing his brand and taking it to a “New Level.” Director Shomi Patwary sets a ominous scene surrounded by mosh pits, and fierce half-naked woman; while Ferg and Future causally dab on the scene draped in all black designer. Paying homage to heavy hitters in athletics, this video features cameos from Josh Gordon, of the Cleveland Browns, BMX biker Nigel and Olympic Fencer Daryl Homer. The fellow A$AP member pays homage to these all-stars who all in common took their careers from the very bottom and rose to new heights.
“Future and I have a lot in common – we’re both fans of each other’s work and we both love the grind of getting a lot of work done,” said Ferg in an email to Noisey. “The ‘New Level’ video is a perfect representation of that grind with sport driven cameos by Cleveland Browns, wide receiver Josh Gordon, Olympic fencer Daryl Homer, and BMX biker Nigel Sylvester. We all came from the bottom to new levels in our careers. Also, I heard many athletes turn up to my music before their games so I dedicated this video to them.” he continued.
Ferg is set to drop his sophomore album Always Strive and Prosper, this month. While it is unclear of the exact date or if this single will make his highly anticipated album, it shows his consistency and keeps fans on the edge while waiting.
