For the most part, Hip-Hop is currently being taken over by the likes of Future, Drake and Young Thug. Listeners have become more inclined to unintelligible turn up anthems than songs with lyricism and substance. It’s not necessarily a bad thing, but it is what it is. Music is evolving.
However, those who appreciate the Kendrick Lamar’s and J. Cole’s of today’s Hip-Hop might find Detroit’s Adam Reverie to be quite refreshing.
Adam’s latest offering is called “Untitled”, which he calls ironic, due to the multitude of topics the song shines light on. From calling out media outlets for exploiting young black men, to speaking on rappers enabling the use of the N-Word by their white fans, Adam pulls no punches on this Ace Boogie-produced record.
If you’re okay with turning off the Trap Rap for a second, you definitely want to give this one a spin.
