Rapper, Jaden Smith is wearing a dress because he is the new face for Louis Vuiton women’s wear. Recently this week, he shared this image on his Instagram page (above). Once upon a time, light years ago, girls wearing dresses was the “norm”. Now fast forward to 2016, it is fine- even exceptional- for men to wear skirts every now and again because of gender neutral trends, but enough about that though.
The question on everyone’s mind is- what was he thinking? Well, that’s easy, let us school you. He is the new face for Louis Vuitton’s women’s wear and was paid 10 million dollars for his contract. Maybe society has the problem. Maybe we’ve been culturally programmed to shame anything that is different. Maybe we could learn from Jaden. This skirt screams “look at me,” but who are we to say that expressing oneself is wrong.
