Their debut project, Soulfrito, found Raw and Tayo navigating their way through a homegrown sound of eclectic beats and rhymes, but their sophomore effort, SOULSEASON, presents the duo as polished artists, confident in their sound and direction. For their leading single “Body and Soul”, a deliberately paced beat, with sultry overtones plays well with a catchy hook that urges one to “realign your body soul and mind.”
Something truly dope happens when watching the ‘Ol’ Souls—you believe them. It can be while they relay songs of struggle or funny anecdotes, whether you’re listening to a record displaying their one-of-one sound or seeing the duo perform live, there is something indisputably authentic about ‘Ol’ Souls. Unlike many of their contemporaries who habitually posture for the public, there is a humility about the fellas that sparks an instant connection between themselves and their fanbase.
Their second vlog, picks up with the two-some beaming about being on stage, and their vibe is palpable. Innately, they make feel good music, and fans can actually believe they feel good about themselves. While the first clip served as an introduction, this vlog shows both artists humbly grateful for every minute they spend on stage, and with the caliber of product they’ve been producing, they’re going to be around for a minute.
