The stars came out to support a good cause at the Elevate Genius concert and charity event hosted in the historic Yost Theater in Santa Ana, California. The red carpet event was presented by the Kind-Hearted Compassion in Action Foundation and spearheaded by executive producers Dave Naidu, Pamela Tahim Thakur and Dr. Sonia Singh. It provided a creative platform for talented musicians, artists, and activists who come from adverse circumstances to be able to share their work. Industry expert Steve Lobel gave a riveting speech as the keynote speaker and Bizzy Bone, of the legendary hip-hop group Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, headlined the concert. Many other celebrity guests attended such as Mally Mall, Lil Rome Diddy, Young Lace, Kid Lace, and Quarter Bird.
Guests enjoyed performances by rising star DJ Kiss and socially conscious artists Fatell, DJ Royelle, Phase V, DJ Krazy K, Natalie Stephenson, Go Gettas, Greg Sykes aka Mad Habit, Trademark, Mary Harris, Ilette Hill, Jovan Armand and Trevous Millhouse. Presenters included Mayor Bao Nguyen, Christine Devine from Fox 11 News, Dean Dr. Gail Stearns and philanthropist Jane Gehr. The event was hosted by executive talent scout Big Mike Rob and Cedric Clark NufCed.
In addition to the music performances, social justice art was on display through curator Stephan Baxter by artists John Sollom (OC Weekly Artist 2012), Valerie Lewis (OC Weekly Best Artist 2014), Art Guevara, Amanda Rue, Jason Marcos, Michael Ziobrowski, Rene Cardona, Steve Metzger and Hagop Nagerian.
