Coming off his The Paradox EP, UK singer Jacob Banks gets creatively grimey in his new video “Monster.” Telling the story of a cold-hearted robbery, we see Banks performing in a parking garage surrounding by presumably dead bodies hanging out of a car trunk and chalk outlined on the ground. Filming the video in one take (and on the fly), the guerilla style visual proves to have been worth taking the risk to capture. According to Banks, the video aligned with the song perfectly as it spoke more so to a shift in his life: “The song came about when I was going through a phase of understanding that sometimes you have to take what you want, and as much as I don’t like it, sometimes it’s my only option.”
