Civil TV takes us to Spanish Harlem aka El Barrio for an interview piece with rising New York MC Dave East. He takes us to many spots in the city that are his comfort zones as he describes his upbringing and the genesis of his rap grind. We go from the chopped cheese capitol of the world– Haji’s on 110th–, to Ravenswood projects in Queens, to 1199: a housing hub for Harlem talent which has included the likes of Cam’ron, Bloodshed, and Dame Dash to name a few. It’s an insightful video that shows us another level of Dave East that we haven’t really seen before. Check the interview below.
