LA-based clothing label Bow & Arrow 78 are well-known for their the Gung Fu Scratch tee which is part of their Bruce Lee Collection. One of Urban Outfitters top selling shirts, some of your favourite celebs have been snapped rocking Bow & Arrow garms. International superstars Will Smith, Kevin Hart, Chad Ochocinco and Ne-Yo are all fans of the brand – and that’s keeping the list very short. Their high quality and more importantly, their respectful way of paying homage has earned them an exclusive licensing deal.
The majority of their collection features the image of the legendary martial arts master Bruce Lee on the 1’s and 2’s. An iconic image and with Christmas around the corner, the perfect gift for any Bruce Lee stan.
“Personally Bruce Lee is a huge inspiration because of what he has accomplished as a martial artist, philosopher, and a human being, in general. All of the accomplishments are even more stunning when you consider the fact that he passed away at the age of 32. I feel he was inspirational to many more people throughout the world because of what he stood for on the screen as well as his personal life. He gave his 100% to everything he did especially martial arts. He was way ahead of his time in many of the methods he used to improve himself physically, including running and fruit juices to supplement,” founder Peter Lee tells Respect-mag.com. “It is wonderful and fascinating to see how the urban community is enamored with Bruce Lee. My personal opinion on that issue is that the urban community relates strongly to Bruce Lee because, in his movies, he was always battling and winning against the establishment, the Japanese during the time. There is a film called How Bruce Lee changed the World where many people in the hip-hop community were interviewed about how Bruce Lee influenced them. Some of them actually stated that Bruce Lee was a significant part of the hip hop movement. They were able to relate strongly to Bruce Lee because of his attitude, the way he carried himself, his philosophies, and most of all his “BADNESS.”
Bruce Lee was just a BADASS who any man can look up to and respect because of all of the qualities he possessed. If you had an opportunity to do a poll in the hip-hop community, I have to guess that the vast majority of them would be fan of Bruce Lee.
