We’ve seen a lot of great hip-hop albums and collabs this year, but don’t count out R&B. North Carolina artists, Will WildFire and Mballa, have something to show in their performance art visual “2011”, directed by HeadGraphix. The two co-wrote the record about the perception of love and heartache they both experienced in the year 2011. “Why you faking like you happy/Fakest couple on the ‘Gram you/Staring right into the camera/But I know you looking at me“, sings Mballa. She reveals, “I think that’s one of my favorite lines in the verse.” On the other hand, Will expresses his frustrations of a lover who tries to forget their history together, “She’s ripping pages from her past; I’m on a different story.” “People can try to erase the past and act like it never happened. That doesn’t even matter when they’re no longer a part of your narrative,” explains Will.
