As “Shadow Of a Doubt” (Gibbs’ forthcoming album) crests on the horizon, Freddie Gibbs offers up a loosie with “Fu*kin Up The Count.” This Boi-1da and Frank Dukes produced heavyweight single finds Gibbs’ low-key, gruff vocals flowing precisely over drowned out baselines. The ESGN front man’s consistency is what his fans and heads alike have grown accustom and “Fu*kin Up The Count” is no different. Freddie continues to be a highly-valued voice of street music, which the game needs now more than ever. Slated for a 11/20 release date, SOAD can’t arrive soon enough.
