New Orleans rapper, Dee-1, initiates an conversation with fellow Louisianan, Lil Wayne, over his “Rich As Fxck“ instrumental. Dee-1 uses “Call Yo Bluff“ as a creative outlet to discuss the music industry’s impact on society and hip-hop culture.
“My lil homies bump you, and my lil dogs look up to you, but your food for thought don’t fill them up” and then proceeded to say, “Let’s meet in Hollygrove for coffee / and talk about all our people that’s dead lying in coffins.”
Being that both rappers are New Orleans natives, Dee-1 analyzes Wayne’s content and influence to make an example for a conversation about hip-hop which he feels is necessary. But don’t get it twisted, Dee-1 has mentioned in the past that Lil Wayne is one of his biggest influences. This track is off of his new mixtape, Separated At Birth, which drops on September 15, 2015.
