Checkmate! Beyoncé slays once again.
On Thursday, Aug. 13, it was revealed that the R&B powerhouse will be the face of the coveted September issue of Vogue. Shot by the legendary Mario Testino, sporting wet hair and a curve hugging Marc Jacob’s gown, Yoncé’s cover look can only be described as flawless.
“Just B, Beyonce and the Art of Global Domination,” Vogue‘s cover line reads. Although it’s not clear what exactly the Grammy-award winning singer is promoting, one thing’s for sure – this is her best shoot to date. Throughout the spread, Beyoncé shows off her eclectic sense of style even going as far to reveal her much talked about assets in a netted black mesh dress.
Vogue also teased a video from the shoot on their site, featuring a playful Bey posing provocatively for Testino and gracefully walking through the halls of an estate in patent leather Louboutins. This will be the third time the fashion bible has tapped the iconic singer to grace the cover, however, she makes history this time around.
As Vogue’s September issue cover star, Beyonce is the first black female recording artist in the magazine’s history to appear on the cover for the month. She also joins the ranks of supermodel Naomi Campbell and actress Halle Berry as the third black woman to appear on the cover of the September issue. Check out some gorgeous shots of Queen Bey from her cover story below and make sure to snatch a copy once it hit stands on Aug, 25.
