Talented artists rooted from the DMV (DC, Maryland, and Virginia) area have been taking over: D.R.A.M., Chaz French, GoldLink, Kali Uchis, Sunny & Gabe, Masego and more.
Masego and Medasin are building on the success of their breakout single, “Girls That Dance,” which has already broken 550,000 plays since its release in May. Pink Polo is presented in conjunction with independent music label Film Noir.
For the premiere Billboard Magazine states, “Masego possesses an ear and talent for blissful instrumentation. The jazz vocalist, saxophonist and producer teamed up with producer Medasin to interweave rich soundscapes on his new EP, Pink Polo.”
Masego describes his sound as “TrapHouseJazz.” “I wanted to lead the wave of future jazz, so I created TrapHouseJazz music,” he tells Billboard. “I played sax and trap-scatted over Medasin’s beats; it’s ignorance meets elegance.”
Masego is a multitalented saxophonist, producer and vocalist from Hampton Roads, Virginia. He enjoys aloe vera water, and has an alter ego who we all know fondly as Uncle Sego (he really does act like an uncle). Medasin is an experimental producer from Dallas, Texas. He describes himself as “a young lad with a receding hairline and a slight gut trying to be something great.”
Stream “The Pink Polo” below and make sure you catch him performing in Trillectro along with D.R.A.M., Chance the Rapper, Dom Kennedy, Kehlani and so much more on August 29th at the Merriweather Post Pavilion (Columbia, Maryland).
