Fresh from a six year hiatus, Detroit’s Finale returns strong with his newest release “The Revival,” off his upcoming project “Odds & Ends.” Produced entirely by Oddisee, “The Revival” is a record of spirit, a captivating jazz-infused melody that finds Finale documenting his artistic awakening through quirky, backpack style rhyme patterns. Grabbing help from Pierre Anthony and Invincible (who’s creative depth and verse shines within the record’s structure) gives “The Revival” a valuable dimension. “The song is about taking time out to live, but also planning out your next move at the same time” is not only Finale’s vision for the record, but it’s evident theme throughout. With “Odds & Ends” dropping August 14th, (via Mello Music Group) “The Revival” is an imaginative comeback with an even more prophetic title.
