Jaden Smith isn’t big on promotional rollouts for new music, but we can always count on dope surprise releases from the kid.
Earlier today (July 27), Jaden dropped a brand new track with visuals, titled “Scarface.” Over spare, percussive production Jaden lets loose a series of vague, mystical bars about the past, the future, and the government. In the video, a strange cloaked figure crawls around a dimly-lit estate, while Jaden goes in deep in his verses. The whole thing is low-key weird, but too good to stop watching.
The song ends dramatically, as Jaden repeats “the government will not be killing me, no, the government will not be”—suddenly a shot rings out, and his shadow disappears from view.
You can catch Jaden Smith’s MSFTS FREQUENCY show live on Beats 1 radio, August 1 at 12pm/12am EST (and every other Saturday).
