The NBA2K franchise has a history of allowing some of hip-hop’s juggernauts to curate the sounds of the series; two previous contributors were Jay-Z and Pharrell. This year, 2K has tapped the likes of DJ Premier, DJ Khaled, and DJ Mustard to handle what is supposed to be the biggest soundtrack of any 2K game to date. The plan is to have the trio cultivate three different playlists of music; one classic playlist which contains fan favorites from past games, an international set of tunes, and an overall major playlist which contains all the songs in one. In addition, all three producers will contribute two new songs which will be exclusive to the game itself. “NBA 2K16” is set to be released September 29, 2015.
