Following the viral success of its original, which has garnered upwards of 9 million views since its release on New Year’s Day 2015, Korea’s Keith Ape is back with the official remix for “It G Ma” in partnership with CXSHXNLY and OWSLA, which features Atlanta’s Waka Flocka Flame and Father, New York City’s A$AP Ferg and Los Angeles’ Dumbfoundead.
This transnational moment is documented in the remix’s video, being released today by Complex, as Illusive Media’s Shomi Patwary captures Keith Ape and all of the remix’s contributors together. Maintaining the aesthetic of the original video, it represents a historical moment in which mainstream rap, streetwear, Internet and Asian cultures intersect seamlessly.
The song’s release also marks the launch of burgeoning collective CXSHNLY, a conglomerate of first generation artists from across the globe bridging the gap between the culture in which they were raised and hip-hop culture and servicing as the face of rising international rap artists from Asia. Keith Ape is currently at work on new music that includes collaborations with Yung Lean, Playboi Carti, Robb Bank$ and a full project with producer Southside of 808 Mafia.
