In case you’ve been under a rock, there is currently a lot going on in our world, our country and even our own backyards. Due to racial tension and police brutality, among other things, America has become a nation on the brink.
Chicago singer Sir The Baptist, who you might’ve recently heard on Chance the Rapper and The Social Experiment’s recent SURF project, saw fit to touch on the social issues affecting us, in a way not seen since Kanye West dropped “Jesus Walks”, a song that raised many eyebrows, as it combined secular music with elements of Gospel.
Calling his style of music “contemporary ghetto gospel”, Sir The Baptist liberates an electrifying new clip for “Raise Hell”, from his debut album Preacher’s Son, due out August 14th.
“There’s something boiling in this generation of youth,” Sir says. “We’re breaking all the rules for mankind’s sake”.
It will be exciting to see what’s next from this guy, but in the meantime, check out what’s now.
