On this day, in 1998, Aaliyah’s “Are You That Somebody” produced and written by Timbaland (and Static Major) was released into the world. It was well-received in the United States and many other countries, soon becoming the number one record on Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay and its Rhythmic Airplay Chart counterpart.
