Rihanna comes through with some new material in the form of an interlude off her new upcoming album. While the official title of her approaching eighth studio album is still up for debate, thanks to some pretty consistent hashtags and tweets (see below) it’s safe to assume she’s made her decision.

While her last single “B*tch Better Have My Money” is an aggressive and absolute banger, RiRi switches it up and gives us a soul healing interlude titled “James Joint” on the heels of every stoners favorite holiday. The title is no doubt a reference to singer James Blunt, however singer James Fauntleroy is the real influence here. Tapped for some assistance on the track, it’s becoming clear this duo might be a match made in heaven.
“James Joint (Interlude)” is an incredibly uplifting and short ode to what? Smoking Weed. Why? Rhianna loves weed, and its as simple as that. Soft bass, and soulfully layered vocals dance and roll themselves together (pun intended) into one of the most peaceful and beautiful pieces of audio to hit your ears so far this year. The only thing “James Joint (Interlude)” is missing is another two and half minutes because repeat just doesn’t seem do it justice, listen here.
