R.O.M., DEFFIE, and Masego team up to release one of the dopest trap-house-jazz tracks to be heard in awhile.
Over the last few weeks, R.O.M. and DEFFIE collaborated and released “Grandmaster,” while Masego’s Medasin-produced “Girls That Dance” turned into what Artistic Manifesto calls “a certified underground hit.” Yesterday (April 15), R.O.M., DEFFIE and Masego revealed “Done” to their fans. According to AM, R.O.M. explains, “I started the track, so I picked the vocal sample, chords, and structure. DEFFIE handled drums and bass. Masego did vocals and sax. DEFFIE also helped with song structure and mastering.”
Here’s a little background on these musical geniuses. R.O.M. is based in London, DEFFIE in Los Angeles, and Masego in Virginia. It’s pretty clear that their geographic locations don’t keep them from making outstanding music. Masego’s jazzy vocals compliment the smooth sounds of piano, saxophone and other samples.
