Despite rainy weather last week, New York’s SOBs was packed with hip-hop lovers all waiting to see Alex Wiley’s first NY headlining show.
First to the stage was Trial & Era. The New York trio turned the crowd up as the performed a few of their tracks including “Junky” and “RA-TA-TA-TA”.
Next to the stage was Chicago’s Kembe X. The energetic rapper jumped on the stage as his opened his set performing “As I Unfold”. During his set, Kembe X took the time out to give some shine to another up and coming Brooklyn rapper, Jimi Tents.
After Kembe X ‘s set, Philly rapper Tunji Ige took to the stage to perform some tracks from his popular EP, The Love Project including “Day to Day” and “Ball is Life”.
Finally Alex Wiley, accompanied by a live band, hit the stage. The young Chi-town rapper had the audience in the palm of his hands as he rapped a plethora of his tracks from “Village Party”. During a brief “smoke intermission”, the rapper announced that his upcoming project will be released on March 10th.
All in all, Alex Wiley and his live band showed out! If you missed him on tour in your city, you’re still in luck! The Chi-town native will be performing at SXSW before he embarks on the European leg of his tour in April.
