Kelow adopts an Atlanta-esque flow on “Finna,” her newest offering that’s got residents of D.C. and beyond going crazy. Having spent time around her, (albeit limited) “Finna” captures her free-spirit aesthetic, as well as her vast artistic range. Embedding divergent tempos and melody, this record’s synth-heavy sound and subtle, yet memorable hook (“I’m finna..finna”) place Kelow in a creative space that avoids unjustly slighting her as just a “female rapper.” By my estimation, Kelow is finna have a huge year.
