Grammy award winner, Lupe Fiasco adds to the growing list of incredible, socially conscious late night appearances as of late with his performance of “Deliver” on Late Night With Seth Meyers. The energetic, yet thought-provoking performance was made complete with live drums and plenty of background singers dressed in all black who were reminiscent of the progressive Black Panther Party-which was born out of the social injustices we still face today with today.
The track itself matched the dark and aggressive aesthetics of the performance by detailing racial discrimination, and the sometimes bleak outlook that comes with life in the ghetto. Ultimately, when you take all the polarizing Twitter rants out of the picture, Lupe Fiasco proves he’s still a great artist.
