The All Gold Everything emcee, recently expressed his thoughts on the change in “hip-hop” culture and music. The words of Trinidad James certainly hold weight, as he explains how the industry has evolved overtime:
“I feel like hip-hop started extra positive, and now it’s completely negative.” – Trinidad James
Feeling that artists are locked in a particular trend, the Southside rapper continued to share his thoughts on the game, implying that it’s the streets that continue to rep this exact movement:
“For somebody who grew up in a generation where we started on love songs about courtship with a woman, now it’s like, ‘Bang, bang. Get out of here,’ you know what I’m saying? It’s just the complete opposite. It’s the audience that accepts it. It’s the radio stations that play it.”
Positively, Trinidad James seems to understand the direction he wants to take in the industry and we can expect this to be reflected through future sounds. Appreciating the diverse styles used by many acquaintances in the industry, he has undoubtedly grown to respect the art of music, explaining:
“You’ve gotta learn to accept all types of music, because it’s like art. It’s like all the paintings around us right now. All of them are not my style, but when somebody painted it, this is just how they seen the tree, or how they seen the butterfly, it’s someone’s art.”
