I.R.A. is what you would call an abstract musician. He’s not only an independent rapper hailing from Baltimore, MD. this artist paints you a modern abstract work of art with his words and confused sound in his latest album The Free Spirit. If you don’t listen carefully you might get lost in the different beats and clever samples. IRA’s displays his romantic struggles in a track titled HVM (Heart vs. Mind) which makes you feel like you are in B-More house party,
“Relationship exercises are really just confusing when the only exercise we doin is jumping to Conclusions.”
He cleverly slides us into Fallin In Love, in the previous song he wants his girl to be in love with him, which he could of been rushing. In this song he’s accepting the love he has claimed for a woman he is admiring,
“I used to choose from a pool full of women, swimming like Michael Phelps…I guess I’m Fallin in love with you.”
The Free Spirit comes to a close with more politically-driven songs like “Revolution” and “Generation X“. The entirety of this projects sole objective is to make every listener listen to music a little bit differently after opening their ears and minds to IRA NATION and The Free Spirit.
