I.O.D., a Brownsville MC emerging within New York’s highly competitive Hip-Hop scene, has decided to drop a new record, “Ebola”. Produced by Gordon and directed by 2Ri, the record capitalizes on the news scare and numerous negative connotations the alleged disease carries in its name, translating that same ideology and capturing it within the subject matter of his lyrics. Specifically the first verses all touch upon numerous things that bother him on a normal day basis. Here’s what the young MC had to say about the video:
Really take my art in and make your own truthful opinion about what you hear and see and not judge it solely off of a controversial title. And that they should also do their own research and formulate their own thesis on the issue of Ebola. For me tho it’s art it’s suppose to make you feel something. What you feel is up to you.
In all, I.O.D. aims to help spark your mind to alleviate yourself of anything you find detrimental to being the real you. With cosigns ranging from Ebola awareness organizations to members of Pro Era, not to mention a huge billboard of him on 34th street as part of the #Re2pect campaign, I.O.D. is sure to have a bright future ahead of him.
