After dropping their single ‘Mind Right”, the Columbia Records signees caught the attention of many. Being labelled as the duo that you should be seeing everywhere soon, TK N CASH are compared by many to Rae Sremmurd. Their single meshes a ton of this summer’s styles such as “No Type” “Cut Her Off” and more but with a much smoother vibe. With working on their debut album at the moment and plotting for 2015, TK N CASH lend us a few minutes of their time to let fans know what to expect from the two. From being mentored by Ludacris and being around 2 Chainz to going on tour with several big names, their resume is impeccable and they are ready to claim their stardom.
RESPECT: For those who are still discovering your music could you tell fans a little about yourself?
TK: TK N Cash, we’re eager to work, humble but we know our worth. It’s a balance of being energetic, turning up and working at the same time.
RESPECT: Where are you guys from and how did you guys come together?
Cash: We’re from Augusta, Georgia. We grew up together. We were friends before we did any music together and once we made our first song, we kept it going.
RESPECT: How long have you guys been making music for?
TK: I recorded my first song at the age of 12.
Cash: I recorded my first song when I was 13.
RESPECT: You guys have been grinding for a minute now performing at festivals with acts like Diggy Simmons, Mindless Behavior, Jacob Latimore to name a few. Hows the journey been like ever since?
TK: The journey’s been hard but we learned a lot. I wouldn’t change anything about it. Everything we are today is because of our past. We manoeuvred around a lot of things to get here but honestly if feels great.
Cash: With being on shows with Ludacris to 2Chainz, it’s been a blessing being on tour with so many made people.
RESPECT: You guys are currently working on your highly anticipated debut. what can the fans expect from it?
TK: Reality music. Essentially everything we going through we put it down in the studio so expect “us”, period.
RESPECT: Any collaborations in the works that we can look forward to?
Cash: On the tape, Collaboration-wise, we got Ty Dolla $ign, Young Scooter and some things we can’t name just yet. We are trying to focus on ourselves. This project is more so about us so we’re not trying to have too many features.
RESPECT: “Mind Right” has been catching a lot of fire since it was released. Would you say it’s your break-out track?
TK: Definitely. We didn’t expect it though. We knew it was a great record but we really didn’t think it would be the one. “Mind Right” is the break-out.
RESPECT: What was the process that went behind that single?
Cash: We were just vibing and the song kept making itself in the studio, the way we make music all the time, it just came out.
RESPECT: How does it feel to be getting such amazing feedback for your single?
TK: It’s been a blessing to get so much feedback. All the new people that are on TK N Cash, we appreciate the support, definitely.
RESPECT: Every artist is getting ready for 2015. Do you guys have any set goals for 2015?
TK: We’re excited, apart from working on our music videos, we wanna reach out to our fans. Grow more with our music. Definitely go #1 with a record.
