Canada-based blog Montreality just released a lengthy Schoolboy Q video interview. Schoolboy talks about a variety of subjects, such as still wanting to be a pimp, watching cartoons (Teenaged Mutant Ninja Turtles), playing Call of Duty, lacking beef with Childish Gambino and being a “bad ass kid that did the work” in high school. Despite the seemingly random questions, it cohesively aligns with the image of Schoolboy that his fans adore. Q always kills interviews, whether it be something as straight forward as this or his Back and Forth series with A$AP Rocky on Noisey.
It’s definitely worth a watch, especially Schoolboy’s touching remarks on West Coast hip-hop pioneer Nate Dogg. His most relevant comment to contemporary hip-hop is when he remembers Dogg’s ability to “bring life to a song” without ever dropping a real record. Towards the end of the interview, Q not only provides his definition of a G but also sends a message out to all the youths out there. Check out the entire interview below:
