Kanye gave an interesting speech during his Made in America Festival performance. He told the crowd he is unhappy about the papers and people out there who are distracting the world from his music by making a joke of him and his work. All he wants to do is “create more that can help more people” through his art. “What we do, we put our love, our heart, our pain, our stories, our lives into it,” he explains. West allegedly told the crowd he contacted Pharoah after the VMAs saying that while he “appreciated” the portrayal, he expected from him to explain what he “went through to get to that position.” West linked his VMAs bit to Pharoah’s bit in the infamous “South Park” where he mocks pretty much everything about West.
“It’s fine and funny and everything, but don’t distract from our vision. It’s not a joke what we do up here. This music that we do is not a joke. What we do culturally is not a joke.”
