Larry Fisherman / Mac Miller has, for a while now, been suspiciously nice behind the boards, but he’s really starting to creep up on being one of the most consistent and aesthetically distinctive producers in the culture. Pretty much everything the kid touches knocks; turn to Faces(one of our best albums of the year so far) for the best and most recent examples. Your Old Droog, everyone’s favorite new mystery man, fittingly teams up with Mac’s alter ego and spits some delinquent rhymes. Occasionally, he’s hilarious–“she licked the soul like Fat Joe, even gave the sneaker head”–and slick–“I’m out here getting my career and my bread right. You out here looking like a deer in the headlights,” and the track entertains for all 2:40.
