Estonian street artist MinaJaLydia from Tartu tagged the streets of her hometown this summer 2014 with a piece emphasizing her love for pink paint and feminism. Over the past 8 years, Tartu has become a breeding ground for street artists. But regardless of the beautiful works of art, Estonia has a history of city officials removing the paintings, arguing that the city is not a “free for all.” However, over time, officials began to realize that even illegal street art has some benefits and can be deemed “beautiful.” Shown in the video below is MinaJaLydia’s process as she stamps her latest masterpiece Live Fast, Die Young on the corner of Tartu at the wee hours of the night as the police rides by without a bother.
