Janelle Monae never is anything less than sharp. From inhumanly on-point vocals to her signature black & white aesthetic and composed hair, Janelle usually has everything under pinpoint control, which is maybe why the “Electric Lady” video walks such a lively tightrope. She’s a bit more relaxed, dress wise, chilling with her ‘fro out and in semi-sorority gear, and she takes a break from the airtight choreography to just hop around while she raps a verse of the song. Even when she lets loose, she’s composed, but seeing some of that looseness adds a bit of depth to an already impressive artist. Check out the video for the incredibly catchy “Electric Lady” below.
