Common made some great guest choices for Nobody’s Smiling, and he must know it: on Kimmel, he brought out both Vince Staples and Jhené Aiko. While Jhené didn’t have that much to do but repeat “black majik” and sing a quick bridge, Vince actually wound up upstaging the man of the hour himself. Maybe it’s Com’s kinda choppy flow or his winded-sounding voice, but he didn’t hold much of a candle to a Staples that was more fiery than ever. The extra sneer and increased energy in his voice highlighted just how much his flow bounces off of the walls on his “Kingdom” feature. Get into the clip below, and peep “Black Majik” below that.
