Multi-talented Grammy-nominated musician and entrepreneur, Ryan Leslie, is presently in the process of putting the finishing touches on his direct artist-to-fan platform, Disruptive Multimedia (DMM). Slated to publicly launch July 4, 2014, DMM is a platform that will grant musicians the opportunity to directly sell music and merchandise to their fans. In an effort to directly communicate with individual fans, artists will also be able to utilize the service to organize membership clubs.
“Disruptive Multimedia offers a direct-to-consumer business model that is second to none,” said Leslie. “This will be a revolutionary model for audiences to be able to communicate with their favorite artists. Artists will now see full royalties from record one and, more importantly, retain control of their data,” he added.
Disruptive Multimedia has already been backed by Andreesen Horowitz co-founder, Ben Horowitz, who praised the platform, saying, “Ryan is a genius and is about to transform the music industry and re-balance it in favor of the artists.”
