We’ve already raved about the Stones Throw documentary (coming May 27), and now we’re getting a taste of the largely Madlib-produced soundtrack (that we also raved about). Cue “Cue 06,” a perfect slice of the weeded West Coast legend’s familiar micro (and slightly macro) style. The horns recall some of Lib’s more bombastic moments on the Beat Conductatapes, and that needling guitar with the ride-along drums recall something Quasimoto would toss a cinderblock or two over. Enjoy below.
