With little promotional work (not that it was needed), The Roots have released their new album, …And Then You Shoot Your Cousin under the Def Jam label. As interesting as the title is, The Roots’ 11th studio album is comprised of 12-tracks that is just as introspective as their 2011 release, Undun. The album content is described by Black Thought as a satire that analyzes many different stereotypes within the hip-hop community. The album was led by two singles, “When The People Cheer” and “Tomorrow” featuring Raheem Devaughn, both in which had accompanying videos. Stream the 12-track…And Then You Shoot Your Cousin via Pitchfork and purchase through iTunes.
