“Tomorrow” is a refreshingly soulful release from the Grammy Award winning The Roots. It follows up the darker “When the People Cheer,” as the second single from their 11th studio album …and then you shoot your cousin, due May 13th. With over 20 years of experience recording music, it’s no surprise the group has the maturity and versatility to keep audiences guessing. The song’s guest vocalist, Raheem DeVaughn chimes in reassuringly on the chorus, “‘Cause everybody needs an angel / And everybody needs to smile/ And everybody wants tomorrow right now.” If the track is any indication, listeners can look forward to a good measure of emotion and depth in the upcoming record.
