Asher Roth‘s sophomore album RetroHash is dropping next Tuesday April 22nd, a whopping five years after his debut Asleep in the Bread Aisle. Asher demonstrated a knack for laid back rhymes and a smooth flow on Bread Aisle, and if his latest release “Last of the Flohicans” is any indicator RetroHash will give listeners more of the same.
The goofily-titled track finds Roth kicking it over a looped electric guitar riff and Major Myjah contributing a catchy, melodic hook. The Pennsylvania rapper’s buttery smooth delivery is complimented well by the Blended Babies’ funky production, which strays from many of the sounds being heard in mainstream rap today. Listen to “Last of the Flohicans” below and look out for RetroHash on iTunes Tuesday.
