Fresh off earning rave reviews for her debut “Where I Belong,” Lilly McKenzie returns with another freshly-minted single off her forthcoming LP. On “Support Machine,” the UK songstress is in a more complicated state of mind. Atop a moody and emotional, yet cascading piano instrumental, she reflects on her attraction to a certain man, pondering her uncertainties: “…wondering what the hell we’ve been trying for, you kept me alive on this support machine, when I closed my eyes you took the life from me.” As if the potent backdrop on this R&B/hip-hop blend weren’t enough, rapper Giggs also jumps on board to contribute some suave verses jam-packed with vivid wordplay.
